PQ at shows: Thanks to everyone who visited PQ Systems’ booths at the Quality Expo, AIAG 2013 Quality Summit, and Sensors and Instrumentation in recent weeks. A special congratulations to Richard Pirino of Brentwood Industries, winner of the Harley Davidson backpack we gave away at the AIAG Quality Summit.

Quality pioneer dies: Eiji Toyoda, who pioneered modern manufacturing techniques and promoted quality in Toyota automobiles, died September 17, at 100 years old. Copying the quality management techniques of Ford Motor Company, he brought continuous improvement based on W. Edwards Demings’ principles to the Japanese automaker.

Healthcare conference: The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) will host its 25th Annual National Forum on Quality Improvement in Healthcare in Orlando, December 8-11. Registration for the event has opened.

Education conference: It’s not too late to register for the ASQ National Quality Education Conference taking place November 17-18 in Milwaukee. The conference will focus on creativity and innovation.
